[7] Why Have Respect Of One’s Spiritual-Nature?

C7: Respect [Of] One’s Spiritual-[Nature]

[7] Respect [Of] One’s Spiritual-[Nature]

Why [have] respect [of] one’s spiritual-[nature]? Speaking of my presently manifested one mind, directly down, together with Śākya[muni] Thus Come [One’s mind, they are] not two, without difference.

Why [are] World-Honoured [Ones, from] immeasurable kalpas since, [already] early accomplished [with] Right Awakening, yet me [and] others [are] confused [and] inverted, still being ordinary beings?

Moreover, [the] Buddha World-Honoured [Ones], then possess immeasurable supernormal [powers and] wisdom, [with] meritorious virtues’ adornments, yet me [and] others, then only have immeasurable karmic ties [and] afflictions, [and are to the cycle of] birth [and] death bound.

[Our] mind-natures are one, [but our] confusions [and] realisations [are like the] sky [and a deep] abyss, [far apart. With] silencing [of] words contemplating this, how can [we] not [be] ashamed?

For example, like [a] priceless treasure gem, sunken in mud, [it is] regarded as the same as [a broken] tile [and] gravel, not further loved [and] respected, therefore, [we] should [be] with immeasurable good dharmas [to] remedy [our] afflictions.

[By] cultivating virtues having merits, then [can our] nature’s virtues, then [be] revealed, like [the] gem after washing, hanging [on a] high pillar, unimpeded [with] bright light, shining [and] covering all, [this] can [be] said [to be] not abandoning [the] Buddha’s [teachings for] transformation, not betraying one’s spiritual-[nature].

[This] is for giving rise [to the] Bodhi Mind, [the] seventh cause [and] condition.
