[The] Ninth Principle: [On] Women Prostrating [And] Reciting, [With] Reverence Interpenetrating
Women from [ages of] 12 [or] 13, until 48 [or] 49, all have monthly periods. So-called ‘when [having] monthly periods, [one] must not prostrate [and] uphold recitation’, these words [are] clearly not [with] reason [and] principles.
Those [with] monthly periods short, [are with] 2 [or] 3 days then stopping, those [with] long [ones, are with] 6 [or] 7 days then stopping. Of people upholding practice, [as it] must [be from] thought [to] thought without interruption, how can [they], because of this natural [and] small sickness, think [of] completely abandoning their practice?
Now speaking [of] when [having] monthly periods, [there] can [be] less prostrations ([as there] should [be] less prostrations, not absolutely not making prostrations), reciting [of the] Buddha[‘s name and] reciting [of] sūtras should all [be] as usual.
[There] should often [be] changing [and] washing [of] dirtied cloths [i.e. used sanitary pads, tampons and such]. If hands touched dirtied cloth, [there] should immediately [be] washing clean. [There] must not [be] with hands that touched [the] dirty, flipping sutras and burning incense too.
[The] Buddha’s Dharma [teachings, are with] every Dharma [teaching] interpenetrating, [while] external paths [are] only attached [to] precipitous principles. [The] world’s people [are with] extremely many [who] only believe that [by] external paths said, not knowing [the] Buddha’s Dharma [teachings’] right principles, thus leading all co-practitioners, [to] not [be] able [to] together [be] moistened [with the] Dharma’s benefits.
