速了偈
Verses On Swift Liberation
既然今世，
未能了脱，
应学念佛，
最速成佛。
Since in this present life,
yet able to liberate from the cycle of birth and death,
all should learn to be mindful of Buddha,
to most swiftly accomplish Buddhahood.
得生极乐，
能见诸佛，
闻最正法，
自成圣僧。
Attaining birth in the Land Of Ultimate Bliss,
be able to see all Buddhas,
hear the most Right Dharma,
and naturally accomplish as noble Saṃgha.
难了偈
Verses On Difficult Liberation
若无净修，
今世尽后，
深入末法，
难行易堕。
If without Pure Land cultivation,
after this present life ends,
entering the Dharma-Ending Age deeper,
with difficulty of practice and ease of falling.
不见一佛，
相似法多，
善知识少，
何生解脱？
Not seeing even one Buddha,
with much similar wrong ‘Dharma’,
and few good-knowing friends,
in which life will there be liberation?
