[Sūtra]: Moreover, Śāriputra, that Buddha has immeasurable [and] boundless Voice-Hearer [i.e. Śrāvaka] disciples, all [of whom are] Arhats, [who] cannot [by] counting of [their] number [be] known. All Bodhisattva assemblies, [are] likewise thus.
[Explanation]: [The] other directions’ [beings with] fixed nature [of the] Two Vehicles [of Śrāvakas (声闻) and Pratyekabuddhas (辟支佛)], cannot attain birth [there].
If those first practising [the] Small [Vehicle’s] practices, [when] approaching [the] end [of life] dedicating [them towards unsurpassable] Bodhi, giving rise [to its] great vow, [when] born [in] that land already, [with the] Buddha according [to their] capacity speaking [the] Dharma, enabling severing [of mistaken] views [and] thoughts, thus [are they] named [as] ‘Arhats’ [there].
Like [the] Separate Teaching’s beings of [the] Seven Abode [who have] severed [mistaken] views [and] thoughts, [yet they are] not true Voice-Hearers, [as they are bound for Buddhahood].
Because [those of the] two Tripiṭaka [and] Common Teachings, [did] not hear other directions’ Buddhas’ names, now hearing Āmítuófó’s name, [with] Faith [and] Aspiration [to be] reborn [there, they] altogether belong [to the] two Other [and] Complete Teachings, [as] those [with] capacities that [can be] gathered.
E2: Concluding Guidance
[Sūtra]: Śāriputra, that Buddha Land [is] accomplished [with] such meritorious virtues’ adornments.
[Explanation]: [The adornments of the] Buddha, Voice-Hearers and Bodhisattvas, together are [from] Āmítuófó’s causal [ground] within, [with his] vows [and] practices, that [are thus] accomplished. Likewise are [they from his] fruit [ground of Buddhahood] above, once accomplished, [with] all [adornments in his land] accomplished.
Thus are [the] Buddha, Bodhisattvas, Voice-Hearers, [with] each [and] every one not [of] Self, not [of] Other, [with] Self [and] Other not two, thus called ‘accomplished [with] such meritorious virtues’ adornments’.
[Being] able [to] enable those [with] Faith [and] Aspiration [to] uphold [his] name, [from] thought [to] thought, [this is] likewise accomplished.
[The] first extensive stating [of] that land’s Circumstantial [and] Direct Rewards’ wonderful fruits for awakening Faith [is now] complete.
