Desiring [to] attain [the] Buddha’s teachings’ true benefits, [there] must be [the] completely sincere mind.

[The] practices of upholding sūtras [and] mindfulness [of Amitā(bha)] Buddha[‘s name: ‘Āmítuófó’], although [are the] same, sincerity [of the] mind has shallowness [and] depth, frivolousness [and] earnestness, [that are] not [the] same. Thus, their benefits, [are] then greatly far apart [from] one another.

Everything worldly equally needs [to be] with sincerity then accomplished, furthermore upholding sūtras [and] mindfulness [of] Buddha[‘s name, with the] desire [to], with [this] ordinary being’s body, [be] liberated [from the cycle of] birth [and] death. [To have] transcendent ascent [of the] Buddha’s land, [how can one] not [be] sincere, yet [be] able [to] attain [it]?
