一劝极闲人念佛。
婚嫁都毕，子孙克家，安闲无事，
正好尽心尽力念佛。
每日念几千声，乃至几万。
[I] only urge extremely free persons [to be] mindful [of Amitā(bha)] Buddha[‘s name – ‘Āmítuófó’. With] marriage[s] all completed, children [and] grandchildren able [to] undertake family matters, [being] peacefully carefree [and] without [other] matters, [this is] just [the] right [time to, with] utmost sincerity [and] utmost efforts, [be] mindful [of] Buddha. Every day mindful [for a] few thousand recitations, [and] even up to [a] few hundred [of] thousand [recitations].
一劝半忙闲人念佛。
半了不了，或忙或闲，
虽不极闲，亦可忙时治事，闲时念佛。
每日念几百声，乃至几千。
[I] only urge half-busy [and half-]free persons [to be] mindful [of] Buddha. [With matters] half completed [and half] not [completed], perhaps busy or free, although not extremely free, also able [to], when busy, manage matters, [and] when free, [be] mindful [of] Buddha. Every day mindful [for a] few hundred recitations, even up to [a] few thousand [recitations].
一劝极忙人念佛。
勤劳王事，奔波家业，
虽无闲时，也须忙里偷闲念佛。
每日晨朝十念，乃至日间或念几百。
[I] only urge extremely busy persons [to be] mindful [of] Buddha. Diligent [over] governmental matters, rushing about [for] family businesses, although without free time, also needing [to], amidst busyness ‘steal’ break[s, to be] mindful [of] Buddha. Every day, [in the] early morning, [with] ten [mindful] thoughts, even up to, within [the] day, perhaps mindful [for a] few hundred [recitations].
