若念佛者,当知此人,则是人中,芬陀利花,观世音菩萨、大势至菩萨,为其胜友,当坐道场,生诸佛家。

If [there are] those mindful [of the] Buddha, [you] should know [that] these persons, are then within humans, puṇḍarīka flowers. 五从「若念佛者」下,至「生诸佛家」已来,正显念佛三昧功能超绝,实非杂善得为比类。即有其五:一明专念弥陀佛名;二明指赞能念之人;三明若能相续念佛者,此人甚为希有,更无物可以方之,故引分陀利华为喻。梵言「分陀利」,此云好华,亦名妙好华,亦名希有华,亦名上上华,亦名最胜华。此华相传白莲华是。若念佛者,即是人中好人,人中妙好人,人中希有人,人中上上人,人中最胜人也。四明专念弥陀名者,即观音、势至常随影护,亦如亲友知识也。五明今生既蒙此益,舍命即入诸佛之家,即净土是也。到彼长时闻法,历事供养,因圆果满,道场之座岂赊?

Fifth, from ‘If [there are] those mindful [of the] Buddha’ below, until ‘born [in] all Buddhas’ home’ afterwards, [this] precisely reveals Samādhi’ [From] Mindfulness [Of] Buddha’s function [being] surpassing, truly not [that which] mixed goodness [is] able [to] be compared [with]. Then having these five [sub-explanations]. First, [is] explanation [of] focused mindfulness [of] Āmítuófó’s name. Second, [is] explanation indicating praise of people able [to be] mindful. Third, [is] explanation [that] if [there are] those able [to have] continuous succession [of] mindfulness, these people are extremely rare, also without objects [that] can be equal [with] them, thus citing puṇḍarīka flowers as [an] analogy. [In the] Sanskrit language [is] ‘puṇḍarīka’, [with] these said [as] good flowers, likewise named wonderful good flowers, likewise named rare flowers, likewise named [the] highest superior flowers, likewise named [the] most excellent flowers. These flowers, [as] passed on, are white lotus flowers. If [there are] those mindful [of] Buddha, [they] then are good humans among humans, wonderful good humans among humans, rare humans among humans, highest superior humans among humans, most excellent humans among humans. Fourth, [is] explanation [of] those [with] focused mindfulness [of] Āmítuófó’s name, immediately [are by] Contemplator [Of The World’s] Sounds [and Great] Power Arrived [Bodhisattvas] constantly following [like] shadows [to] protect [them], likewise like relatives [and] friends [who are] knowledgeable. Fifth, [is] explanation [of in] this life, since receiving these benefits, [when] relinquishing life, immediately entering [the] home of all Buddhas, [which is] the same as [Āmítuófó’s] Pure Land. Arriving [at] that [land with] long time [for] hearing [the] Dharma, one by one making offerings, [with the] cause perfect [and] fruit complete, how [can the] seat [of the] bodhimaṇḍa [be] distant?
